Trump incapable of acting diplomatically: Analyst

"Donald Trump is extremely inexperienced, immature, unsophisticated and sophomoric," says Scott Rickard.

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is “extremely inexperienced and immature” and cannot behave diplomatically on a global scale, says an analyst.

“Donald Trump is extremely inexperienced, immature, unsophisticated and sophomoric, this is an individual who has displayed over and over again his incapability of seeing the intricacies of how things operate on a global scale and certainly on how to operate on a diplomatic perspective,” Scott Rickard, a former American intelligence linguist, told Press TV on Saturday.

Rickard made the remarks when asked about US President Barack Obama who blasted Trump for comments the Republican frontrunner has made about nuclear proliferation.

Earlier this week, Trump said Japan and South Korea should obtain nuclear weapons to boost their ability in deterring regional rivals like North Korea.

Obama questioned Trump’s fitness for office for suggesting that the US and its allies should abandon constraints on the use of nuclear weapons. “We don’t want somebody in the Oval Office who doesn’t recognize how important that is.”

Rickard said that “the kinds of rhetoric that go back and forth between the left and right administrations when it comes to Obama’s remarks, are very typical of the behavior that we see whereby the left tries to accuse the right of being more aggressive and the right tries to accuse the left of being less aggressive.”

“Donald Trump with his egotistical and very sophomoric state will make very brash decisions very much like John McCain would have made, they’re both very egotistical and they both operate with the same amount of real poorly thought-out decisions,” he opined.

Trump has been under harsh criticism as his campaign has been marked by controversy from the beginning, with disparaging remarks about immigrants, Muslims and women.
