A few individuals calling themselves Muslims kill people in Paris and the entire French establishment puts all Muslims under suspicion, and the religion of Islam is targeted.
By targeting religion through their racist lens, the French are continuing a long standing tradition of intolerance toward religion, toward others in general and, in this case, toward Muslims. Why do the French not target all white people for the atrocities committed by white people home and abroad and why is the whiteness of the whites not scrutinized?
