An EgyptAir domestic flight from Alexandria to the capital Cairo has been hijacked and forced to head towards Cyprus.
According to Cyprus officials, the Airbus 320 has landed at Larnaka airport on the country’s south coast. The Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation reported that about 60 people were on board, including 5 cabin crew members. At least one man is said to be armed and officials are suspecting a bomb onboard. The hijackers have made no immediate demands and a crisis team has been deployed to the airport.
