A huge fire has broken out in a residential skyscraper in the United Arab Emirates city of Ajman.
Footage of the Monday night blaze in the Swan area of the Persian Gulf city was posted over social media showing flames ravaging the building.
The blaze, which initially started in one of the complex’s high-rises, has spread to at least one other building.
"My flat is completely gutted," one resident told reporters, "I have lost everything including my documents and I have no place to stay."
Based on local media reporters, traffic on the roads leading to the complex has been brought to a virtual standstill.
According to Ajman Civil Defense director Brigadier Saleh Saeed al-Matroushi, firefighters are currently trying to contain the fire.
There have been no reports of casualties yet.
In December 2015, another massive blaze wreaked a hotel in central Dubai on New Year’s Eve.
