Barack Obama meets Raul Castro in Havana

US President Barack Obama is meeting with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro on the second day of his historic visit to the Caribbean nation. Castro officially received Obama at the Palace of the Revolution. The meeting between Obama and Castro is actually their third face-to-face encounter since the two countries began to normalize relations on December 2014. The US and Cuba have deep differences as they are trying to rebuild their relationship. Castro has said Cuba will not waver from its 57-year-old revolution. Cuban officials say the United States needs to end its economic embargo and return the Guantanamo Bay naval base to Havana before the two nations can enjoy normal relations. Obama is the first sitting US president to visit Cuba in 88 years. Obama landed in Havana on Sunday for a three-day visit.
