Nowruz is a traditional Iranian festival of spring to celebrate the holidays marking the start of the Persian New Year.

Iran is a country that dates back to thousands of years ago. Iran is filled with rich traditions and one of its most celebrated traditions is Nowruz.

Nowruz is the oldest celebrated holiday worldwide. It is the perfect example of truly starting a new year for the simple fact that as the seasons change, Iranians worldwide not only get ready for the changing of season, but also the changing of the year.

Spring in Tehran

One of the biggest festivities of Iran is Nowruz, or New Year that begins on the first day of spring. Although Nowruz starts from the first day of spring, rituals and traditions of this ancient festival start from weeks before and one of them is the beautification of all places, from homes to the cities which is taking place this year in a very large scale in the city of Tehran.
