The Syrian army has liberated a strategic mountain in Homs province, a gain that commanders say has paved the way for retaking the ancient city of Palmyra. Jubeil Mount overviews the village of Qaryatayn which is on the road to Palmyra. Russian warplanes have carried out multiple airstrikes on positions of the Daesh terrorists in the city to help Syrian troops advance towards there. The city, which is home to the United Nations heritage sites, fell to Daesh terrorists last May. The terrorists partially destroyed the historical sites after capturing the city.
