Putin was speaking to returning servicemen. He also rejected any rift between Moscow and Damascus, adding that Russia’s partial pullout was coordinated with the Syrian government. On Monday, most of the Russian military contingent was ordered to return home. The Kremlin says the five-month military presence has accomplished the intended goals.
