EU leaders meet to discuss refugee deal with Turkey
European leaders gather to discuss a draft deal between the EU and Turkey on the refugee crisis. They say lots of issues need to be resolved to reach a final agreement. European Council President Donald Tusk said he’s more cautious than optimistic about the chances of an agreement. He warned of a catalog of issues remained to be resolved. German Chancellor Angela Merkel also said a lot of issues need to be worked out for the finalization of the deal. Cyprus has pledged to use its veto power to block the draft agreement if Ankara does not normalize its relations with the island. The 28 EU leaders will thrash out their negotiating position in Brussels before meeting Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday to push for a deal.
