Tehran rejects UN report on human rights in Iran

Iran has strongly rejected the recent UN report on the human rights situation in the country. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi-Ansari condemned the statement issued by UN Special Rapporteur Ahmed Shaheed. Jaberi-Ansari says the report is politically motivated, discriminatory, and biased. He noted that the report has been filed under the control of certain countries to pressure Tehran. The Iranian official added that such reports only exacerbate the human rights conditions around the world. Ahmad Shaheed, in his latest report, accused Iran of rights violations over issues Tehran has time and again denied categorically.
