Daesh is pushing various forms of birth control on its female captives to keep the supply of sex slaves going, a report says.

According to the report published by the New York Times on Saturday, the Takfiri group uses "oral and injectable contraception, and sometimes both" to make sure the slaves do not become pregnant so they can be raped by other terrorists.

"In at least one case, a woman was forced to have an abortion in order to make her available for sex, and others were pressured to do so," said the report.

“Every day, I had to swallow one in front of him. He gave me one box per month. When I ran out, he replaced it. When I was sold from one man to another, the box of pills came with me,” said a victim.

Another captive said she was forcefully injected with contraceptives after being purchased for the third time by a militant. “To make sure you don’t get pregnant,” he told her.

The report also cited a gynecologist who carried out examinations on a group of over 700 Izadi women who had sought help at a UN clinic in Iraq after fleeing their captors.

Dr. Nezar Ismet Taib noted that only 5 percent of the women had been impregnated during their captivity.

“We were expecting something much higher,” he said.

By the end of 2015, around 5,000 Izadis were taken prisoner by Daesh, many of whom were forced into sexual slavery. The UN and various human rights groups say the Takfiris resort to systematic abduction and rape of thousands of women and girls as young as 12.

Large numbers of captives have managed to escape and tell their stories, although thousands of others yet remain captive.
