A six-year-old girl who was injured in Israeli airstrikes on the blockaded Gaza Strip has succumbed to her wounds.

Isra’, the sister to ten-year-old Yasin Abu Khussa, who was killed in the Saturday attack, died in hospital, Palestinian media reported.

Israelis attacked Gaza after claiming that rockets fired from the enclave hit areas in the occupied Palestinian territories late on Friday. No casualties were reported in the attack, which Israel blamed on Hamas.

Militants affiliated to the Daesh Takfiri group have claimed several such rocket attacks in recent months, but Israel holds Hamas responsible for all such incidents.

Tel Aviv said the strike targeted four Hamas bases in northern Gaza. Hamas officials said five airstrikes were carried out on its facilities, including a military base.

Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesman for the health ministry of Gaza, earlier announced the death of the boy in the Israeli airstrike on an area Tel Aviv claimed to be a base of the resistance movement Hamas.

Another sibling identified as Ayub, 13, suffered moderate injuries.

Residents of Beit Lahiya said the house of the children was hit by shrapnel from the airstrikes.

A funeral was held for Yasin. Palestinians chanted slogans against the Israeli regime.

In the summer of 2014, the Israeli regime launched its latest war on Gaza. More than 2,200 Palestinians were killed in the onslaught. Tel Aviv’s aggression came to an end after fifty days.

Nearly two years later, Israel continues with its occasional acts of aggression against Gaza, which have taken more Palestinian lives.

Israel is also struggling to contain through a crackdown tensions in other parts of the occupied territories, including the West Bank and East al-Quds. Nearly 200 Palestinians have been killed since clashes began in early October 2015.
