Barcelona remains unbeaten for 35 games thanks to Leo Messi hat-trick

Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick as the Catalan giants romped to victory against the hosts who finished the game with nine men after red cards for Diego Llorente and Manuel Iturra.

Ivan Rakitic opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. The Croatia International took advantage of a goalkeeping error and fired the ball into an empty net.

Just a minute later, Argentinean Super-Star Messi slotted home Neymar's return pass to make it 2-nil.

FIFA’s best footballer of the year, then made it 3 for the Catalans , 8 minutes after the restart, after Luis Suarez's shot Had Hit the Post.

Although, Manucho grabbed one back for the hosts, Messi struck again to complete his Hat-trick, before Arda Turan made it 5-1 with a brilliant header, while Rayo Vallecano finished the game with only 9 men. Luis Enrique's side have now made history by going 35 matches unbeaten, to surpass Real Madrid's Spanish League Record, set in the 1988-89 season.
