Beginning with tennis news as World No.1 Novak Djokovic has cruised into the 2nd round of the ATP Dubai Championships, following a comfortable Win over Tommy Robredo of Spain.
The Serbian ace was very much in control of the match from the outset on Monday. He broke Robredo's serve in the 2nd game of the opening set, before a 2nd break-of-serve in the 7th game made way for Djokovic to close-out the set at 6-1.
Robredo couldn't step-up his game in the 2nd and Djokovic easily raced into a 4-1 lead before wrapping up the set 6-2, claiming the victory in 67 minutes. Next up for the World No.1 is a 2nd round match against Mikhail Youzhny of Russia.
Elsewhere, Spain's Feliciano Lopez also progressed into the 2nd round of the tournament by defeating Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in 3 sets. Lopez out-classed his Spanish compatriot with a score-line of 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to win his 400th career match on Monday.
