Islam has been rapidly growing as a religion across the Western world, and with this growth comes the question of Muslim identity.

Muslims are a diverse group made up of several nationalities, and social and economic backgrounds. In the Western world, they have created a common bond, and what ties them together is Islam. The religion is now the basis of their identity.

Muslim identity has become a controversial issue in many countries across the Western world, with localities, personal beliefs and perspectives all being questioned.

What does Muslim identity actually mean? The first and most important element of Muslim identity is faith.
