Here is a round-up of global news developments:

  • The latest Saudi airstrikes on Yemen have targeted the provinces of Ta’izz and Sana’a. Warplanes targeted the district of Wazi’iyah in Ta’izz province at least six times. A public healthcare center in Sana’a also came under attack. The Saudi war has killed over 8,300 people in Yemen since last March.
  • Saudi Arabia confirms it has deployed aircraft at the Injirlik air base near Turkey's southern city of Adana, in a sign of preparation for a possible military intervention in Syria. Turkey and Saudi Arabia claim the move is aimed at fighting Daesh, while they're accused of supporting terrorist groups in Syria.
  • The European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Palestine has warned Israel against its occupation policies. The group has urged Israel to stop its settlement expansion, demolition of Palestinian homes and forcible evictions. It says Israel is showing disrespect by destroying EU-funded structures in Palestinian territories.
  • Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama arrives in Tehran for an official visit. He met with President Hassan Rouhani after the welcoming ceremony on Sunday. Mahama will also meet with the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the parliament speaker. This is the first visit by a Ghanaian president to Iran in 37 years.
  • The Central African Republic is holding the presidential run-off amid tight security. Two former prime ministers, Faustin-Archange Touadera and Anicet-Georges Dologuele, are vying for the top post. The country plunged into chaos in 2013 when Christian groups launched attacks against the mostly Muslim Seleka group.
  • The majority of Britons say Prime Minister David Cameron will fail to get a good deal over the country's EU membership. The results of a poll conducted by The Independent also shows that the voters believe leaving the EU would not affect UK’s ability to manage the refugee crisis.
  • Demonstrators have staged an anti-NATO rally in the German city of Munich, accusing the organization of supporting terror. They also called on the countries participating in the Munich Security Conference to end what they described as the war of terror being waged against the people of Iraq and Syria.
  • Supporters of Argentina's former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner have staged a rally in Buenos Aires. The gathering was organized by a group of artists in a public park. Similar rallies have been held after the ex-president was acquitted of cover-up charges in a 1994 bomb blast case.
