During an underwater investigation, a group of construction workers came across a gallery with an oven and glazed tiles on the rear deck.

The medieval ship had sat beneath sand for about six centuries. The boat is 20 meters long and eight meters wide. The metal joints of the boat allowed the experts to lift the vessel without worrying about damage made to the wreckage.

To raise the ship, the researchers used a metal frame, a protective screen and straps controlled by computer. The ship is going to be taken to Nieuw Land Museum. It will be treated with water to keep its fragile structure wet at all times.
