Civil society group stages hunger strike against terrorism

Member of Pakistan’s civil society have launched a campaign called Rawadari Tehreek against terrorism and extremism, by staging a one-day hunger strike in the capital of Punjab province Lahore.

One year ago, the Pakistani government and army implemented a National Plan of Action to launch a major military offensive against pro-Taliban militants. Now members of the civil society believe, many parts of the plan have not been implemented, allowing terrorists to roam free countrywide.
