UN vindicates Assange

The United Nations on February 5 released the findings of an investigation into the detention of Julian Assange, the founder of the whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, which vindicated him, saying Assange is allowed to walk free after spending three years and a half in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

Flint water crisis

A water crisis in Flint, Michigan, is threatening the health of its residents. Yet Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has politicized the matter for gains on the campaign trail. Meanwhile, the US government is being questioned over who it cares for, Israel with aid in the billions of dollars, or its own citizens.

US citizenship renunciations

A record number of non-resident Americans and green-card holders renounced their US citizenship in 2015. This is the third consecutive year of this trend.
