Alexander Kristoff wins second stage of Qatar Tour

Alexander Kristoff managed to beat Mark Cavendish to win the 2nd stage of the Tour of Qatar in Doha.

Alexander Kristoff managed to beat Mark Cavendish in a sprint finish, to win the 2nd stage of the Tour of Qatar in Doha, but Cavendish still leads the overall standings.

The 135-kilometer 2nd stage started around Doha with strong winds splitting the field. Stage one winner Cavendish was left out of a 20 strong group of big names at the front of the race. But he managed to close the gap, thanks to his team-mates' efforts later in the race.

Cavendish and Kristoff remained on the track despite a big crash on the final run which unseated many of the Sprinters.

Cavendish came from behind, but Kristoff proved too strong for the Brit, holding his lead and crossing the line in a winning time of 3 hours, 11 minutes and 26 seconds to move within 5 seconds of the overall leader Mark Cavendish.
