President of Italy Chamber of Deputies due in Iran
President of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies Laura Boldrini will pay an official visit to Tehran to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
Boldrini’s visit will take place at the invitation of Iranian parliament (Majlis) speaker Ali Larijani, IRNA quoted an informed source at Iran’s embassy in Rome as saying on Tuesday.
It added that the top Italian lawmaker will travel to Tehran after the February 26 parliamentary elections in Iran but no exact date has been set yet.
During a visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Rome in late January, Iran and Italy signed contracts worth up to 17 billion euros (USD 18.4 billion) to enhance cooperation in various sectors including health, transportation, agriculture and energy.
