Ultraviolet Shanghai restaurant charges $1000 per person

Ultraviolet restaurant in Shanghai is the first experimental restaurant of its kind.

A luxury restaurant in Shanghai has provided a unique dining experience for its customers. Named "Ultraviolet", the restaurant engages not only the sense of taste, but also sight, sound, touch, and smell.

For this project, the globally known French chef Paul Pairet collaborates with a team of experts to design additional sensory experiences based on his menu. 

The result is a 20-course adventure in what he refers to as “psycho taste.” A meal costs close to one thousand dollars per head in this restaurant. The addition of projections, smells and audio is designed to enhance the diners' eating experience.
