Clinton’s name synonymous with dishonesty: US analyst

“Mrs. Clinton’s name, it seems to me is becoming a synonymous for dishonesty,” Mark Dankof says.

US Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s name has become synonymous with dishonesty, according to Mark Dankof, an American political analyst and a former US Senate candidate.

Mark, who is also a broadcaster and pastor in San Antonio, Texas, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday a young American voter confronted Clinton at the Democratic forum in Iowa, telling her that his friends do not find her trustworthy.

“In fact, I’ve heard quite a few people my age that think you’re dishonest,” said the questioner, Taylor Gipple.

Dankof said the young voter’s comment “is actually touching a raw nerve that has Democratic Party professionals very, very nervous tonight.”

He said that Clinton has some serious problems, including the problem of her integrity.  He gave examples from Clinton’s days as a lawyer and when she was in the White House as the First Lady. Her husband, Bill Clinton, was the 42nd president of the United States, from 1993 to 2001.

Then Dankof said Clinton was involved in “the illegitimate use of force against Libya on the part of NATO to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi. She had been a cheerleader for what subsequently [was described as] the extrajudicial assassination of Gaddafi.”

“She was directly involved in this illegitimate gunrunning operation for these ISIS (Daesh) and al-Qaeda operation, that were used by the CIA coming from Libya and imported into Syria, and Mrs. Clinton  and her late ambassador [to Libya] were both involved in this very, very sordid effort. And there was a direct effort to overthrow the Assad [government], and the list just goes on and on,” he added.

The US State Department and Clinton have been subject to intense scrutiny by a congressional committee which is investigating the attack on a US diplomatic compound in Benghazi, during which four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed.

However, according to CNN, up to 35 CIA operatives were also working in Benghazi during the attack on the US consulate on September 11, 2012. But the American broadcaster never reported how many of them died or injured.

Clinton has also come under intense criticism after the New York Times published a report in March last year that suggested she violated federal regulations by using a private email account from a server at her New York home while in government.

Using personal email does not necessarily violate rules as long as they are properly preserved, but the practice has raised doubts about her transparency.

Dankof said that the inspector general of America’s “Intelligence Community has basically confirmed that she has lied under oath repeatedly in regard to the whole issue of her email, and her use of non-protected servers to transfer highly sensitive government documents, that we are now learning in some cases had the highest level of classification, that the United States’ Intelligence Community places on such transmissions.”

“So if you get into the whole issue of honesty, Mrs. Clinton’s name it seems to me is becoming  synonymous for dishonesty,” he argued.
