Writer Mickey Z. makes 2016 US election predictions

“I predict some five billion dollars will be spent on their collective campaigns, whomever wins will renege on all their alleged promises, and the Green Party candidate will be barred from the debates,” says American writer Mickey Z.

Predicting the 2016 presidential campaign is easy if you know your history, says American writer and political analyst Mickey Z.

The author of Occupy This Book and Occupy These Photos made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Friday when he was asked to predict who would win the 2016 US presidential election.

“The Danish physicist Niels Bohr once said, ‘Prediction is very difficult, especially if it's about the future.’ But hey, it’s presidential primary season and everyone’s doing it anyway. Therefore, I have no choice but to fulfill my duty as a white male and share my opinions and predictions, even though no one has directly asked me for them,” said Mickey Z.

“Who will win Iowa? Better question, who cares? Since 1972, only three non-incumbent candidates who won Iowa have gone on to win the presidency. Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Ronald Reagan all lost in Iowa while past winners there include Mike Huckabee, Dick Gephardt, and Tom Harkin. So, my only Iowa-related prediction is that Bernie Sanders’ brand new, lily white TV commercial will not garner him many new friends amongst communities of color. Simon and Garfunkel? Really?” he added.

“Let’s cut to the chase, shall we? Here are the official Mickey Z. 2016 Presidential Predictions: I predict the Republicans will talk about guns and immigrants while the Democrats focus on health care and jobs and they’ll all promise to wipe out ISIS [Daesh] within a week. I predict some five billion dollars will be spent on their collective campaigns, whomever wins will renege on all their alleged promises, and the Green Party candidate will be barred from the debates,” the writer stated.

“At those debates, I predict no candidate will mention, for example, the US Department of so-called Defense being the largest polluter in the world or the breast milk of every mother on Earth containing dioxins or 150 to 200 plant and animal species going extinct every single day. Don’t hold your breath either for discussions about rape culture, the prison-industrial complex, corporate personhood, or femicide,” he said.

“We may end up with America’s first female president or its first Jewish president or its first Canadian-born president or perhaps its first reality show president. But no matter happens on November 8, 2016, I confidently predict that patriarchy, white supremacy and capitalism will remain unchallenged and unquestioned in the Land of the Free,” Mickey Z. concluded.
