Sweden's Ice Hotel made of natural Ice, snow

Yukkas-yarvi's Ice Hotel

Imagine a hotel that only accepts guests in winter and has to be rebuilt all over again the next year. That is Sweden’s Ice Hotel.

Yukkas-yarvi, is a small village with a population of 550, but it has gained international fame for this hotel. The winter palace is an art exhibition and hotel, made of natural ice and snow. Since 1989, every year, the owners invite artists and architects to craft suites out of ice.

The hotel is made out of two tons worth of ice blocks which are taken from the nearby river in March when the ice is at its thickest. The building has 19 individually themed and hand-crafted rooms, a main hall, and an ice-bar.
