The Palestinian Authority is extremely frustrated with Israel’s failure to re-enter peace negotiations while at the same time increasing repression in the West Bank and al Quds (Jerusalem).

Erekat confirmed that he had met in recent months with then-interior minister Silvan Shalom, who was entrusted with maintaining contacts with the PA leadership.
