As 2015 comes to an end, we at Africa Today look back at the year marked by the relentless spread of terrorism. We will also look at the role that the West had to play.

Join us as we reflect on the terror in the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria and Somalia.

Many are arguing that the growing trend of terrorism and extremism in Africa is largely driven by America. Using terms like freedom and democracy, Western interventionism and control has spawned Takfiri groups all across Africa. The question is: what is the motive?

Terrorism has spread across the continent. Growing opinion suggests the US is behind it. The main source of refugees and instability is from Somalia, Syria, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. They are all, without exception, countries that have been targets of US intervention. And this has led to devastation, chaos, deteriorating domestic security and extensive displacement.
