Press TV has conducted an interview with Seyed Abdullah Hosseini, a Lecturer at the Johannesburg al-Mustafa University from Tehran, on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s remarks about Israel’s interest in aggravating disunity among Muslim nations.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Let’s start off with the highlight of President Rouhani’s comments that the Israeli regime benefits the most from divisions and violence in the Muslim world and in the region.

Hoseini: The lecture, which was delivered by Dr. Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was an emphasize on the main issue which today the whole Islamic world is suffering from and that is the issue of disunity.

As Imam Khomeini long ago said that if every Muslim just throw one bottle of water towards Israel, Israel will be wiped out of the existence.

Unfortunately, today if you look over the world, you will find that Muslims are scattered and they are not united and the situation is such that the enemies are getting benefit.

The only one, who is actually getting benefit from the disunity of Muslims around the world, is Israel and the West and especially the United States of America, who is busy creating disunity and spreading the world of, what you call, disunity among the Muslims.

I remember very well, right at the beginning of the Islamic Revolution the waves of Islamic Revolution was going to take over the whole world by storm, there was this spy net of Americans in Tehran, which was captured by the students in that time.

They have actually all of the documents but they dismantled those documents again and one of the documents, which came out of those recreation of those documents was that there was an allocation of about five hundred thousand US dollars to find out what is the differences between Shias and Sunnis.

And in this way the Americans realized the only way that they can break the unity among the whole Muslims is to highlight the differences, which they have.

That’s why immediately after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran you can see all of these differences are coming up while the Shias and the Sunnis were living together 14 centuries.

They were living together all over the world with no any conflict, with no any killing each other. They way that we can see here.

It’s only after the victory of Islamic Revolution, when the Americans realized that here the wave of this Islamic Revolution is going to take all over the world. And they realized a type of, what you call, danger from the spreading the message of revolution to all over the world to highlight this issue.

So, they went to Sunnis and they told them stories about the Shias and they came to Shias and also told stories concerning the Sunnis. So, they came to Imam Reza shrine and put a bomb to blast it and blame the Sunnis about it and they went to Zahedan mosque, put a bomb there to blame Shias and create disunity.

And the problem which from the beginning of history of mankind actually from the tome of Pharaoh, it was the formula of divide and rule, which continued with the British empire in their policy and continued today with the Israelis and Americans all over the world.
