Syrian opposition forces are “constantly” providing Russia’s air force with the coordinates of Daesh terrorists' positions, says Russia’s Defense Ministry.

"Contact has been established and is constantly maintained. Opposition groups are providing the command of the Russian air force coordinates to strike terrorist targets," said Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Sergei Rudskoy on Tuesday.

He noted that the "moderate" militants are also aiding the Syrian government in its fight against Daesh.

The Defense Ministry general noted that there are more than 150 of such groups, stressing that "the most patriotic of them" are already confronting the Takfiri threat.

"Today they count up to over 5,000 people," he said, adding that Russia is also helping those people.

Rudskoy also stated that Russia’s goal is "uniting the efforts of government forces and other groups interested in liberating Syria of international terrorists."

He also announced that over the last 24 hours, Russia had carried 17 airstrikes on Daesh targets in Raqqah to further support the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and by the Syrian Democratic Forces who are battling Daesh there.

According the Defense Ministry, since Russia started its anti-terror operations in Syria in late September, 4,201 sorties have been launched against the Takfiris
