At least four people injured in central Moscow bomb blast

An explosion caused by a homemade bomb has injured four people at a bus stop in central Moscow.

“An unknown homemade explosive device has gone off at a public transport stop,” Russian police sources said on Monday.

"In total, four people were injured, three of them were hospitalized” in the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care, said a Russian Department of Health official.

According to reports, the bomb was thrown at a group of people standing in the bus station, in the city’s Pokrovka Street.

Moscow police spokesman Andrey Galiakberov confirmed the incident, adding that police are looking into the matter.

Another source has confirmed the police have launched a hooliganism investigation.
