Daesh from Jordan to New York

Daesh has now threatened to carry out bombings in major US cities. Not surprisingly, security agencies in America have been on alert following the recent attacks in Paris.

According to a report by the Government Accountability Office, between 2004 and 2014, suspected terrorists on the FBI’s so-called consolidated ‘watch-list’ bought weapons from American dealers.  Meanwhile, President Obama says the United States will “vanquish” Daesh, which now controls parts of Syria and Iraq.  Yet America is the very country that armed militants at a training camp in Jordan in 2012, many of whom later joined Daesh.  Despite this, a Daesh video now threatens an attack against New York.

The video displays images of bombers getting prepared to strike, followed by footage from the city’s iconic spots including Times Square and Herald Square. The Takfiri group also puts out propaganda videos that depict gruesome beheadings and summary executions. Daesh has also developed a highly effective social media campaign aimed at recruiting foreigners. The FBI says Daesh even launched a recruitment campaign in US high schools, to persuade students to join the terrorist group.
