At least 11 people have been killed in a bus crash in Indonesia’s West Java Province.

Police said on Thursday that eight people were also seriously injured after a bus crashed into a truck. All of the injured passengers were transported to hospital.

Local media reported that the bus was traveling at high speed when it hit the back of the truck on a highway in the western district of Subang.

Initial reports said the driver of the bus might have been drowsy. Police are still investigating the case.

Earlier this year, a road accident in Indonesia’s Sumatra Island left almost two dozen people dead.

Road accidents in Indonesia are frequent and usually spike up during holidays.
