‘Obsanity’ for Obama to 'bribe' Putin over Turkey, analyst says

It is an “obsanity” for the US to try to "bribe Russia over Turkey", a political analyst says.

In an interview with Press TV on Monday, American political commentator and scholar James Henry Fetzar referred to US President Barack Obama’s remarks meant to alleviate tensions between Moscow and Ankara as an “obsanity.”

Tensions between Russia and Turkey erupted after NATO member Turkey shot down a Russian Sukhoi on November 24 claiming the aircraft had repeatedly violated its air space.

Putin said the aircraft was attacked when it was one kilometer inside Syria, further warning of "serious consequences" of the “stab in the back” administered by "the accomplices of terrorists."

In a Monday closed meeting in Paris with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, Obama called for easing of tensions with Turkey.

Fetzar noted that Turkey has been supporting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group by "buying stolen oil from Syria."

The analyst pointed out that by creating Daesh, the US wanted "to put pressure" on Syria's “elected" government, which makes the US president a “hypocrite and disgrace to the United Stated.”

The United States and its regional allies, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have been backing militants fighting against the Syrian government since the country was gripped by deadly violence in March 2011.
