Press TV has interviewed Steven Kelley, a former CIA/NSA contractor in Los Angeles, about France urging the Persian Gulf Arab states to take in Syrian refugees who are escaping over four years of foreign-backed conflict in their country.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: Do you agree or disagree that Persian Gulf Arab states should be shouldering more responsibility for the conflict in Syria and taking in more refugees?

Kelley: Well that would certainly seem to be the most logical place for these people to go, being that these are Muslim countries naturally, but of course they prefer to go to Europe but the Europeans are being very naïve to even think that these Persian Gulf countries would be a logical location for these people to go considering that these countries are the foremost financers of the Daesh and they are most responsible for the creation of these refugees in the first place.

Press TV: And when it comes to supporting militancy and consequent chaos in Syria, are European countries just as guilty?

Kelley: Well certainly they are and of course there are always motives, economic motives, colonialism, plunder that sort of thing. So yes, when they pretend to act like they are innocent and they are not aware of the sources of these problems, I think they are playing a very foolish game. They look foolish and certainly the people cannot be that stupid.

Press TV: And would it be that really big of a strain on European countries to take in these refugees? European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker said that it will constitute only one percent of the total population if they spread them out accordingly and everybody played their role in taking in a certain number under a quota system of these refugees?

Kelley: Well this is the nature of the world that these people could certainly be spread out. I think though what is really going on here we are seeing this very, very much in countries like Germany where this is actually a cultural onslaught and the compassion of the people wishing to help the refugees is being taken advantage of by the very same people that are causing these refugees to be created in the first place.
