Israel's War on Journalism

Palestinian journalists routinely run the gauntlet of physical and verbal attacks and face arrest or even death in exposing Israel’s policies.

While mainstream international media largely turn a blind eye to the dramatic footage, the Palestinian press continues to cover the Third Intifada. Often, this has resulted in journalists becoming part of the story they are trying to tell.

Israel’s military also bars international journalists from entering Gaza or the West Bank if they deem that they will “threaten national security.”

Therefore, the Israeli military, through its PR apparatus and its control over the West Bank and Gaza crossings, has enormous power to shape outside perceptions of what takes place inside Palestine.
