"Unemployment in France increased in Oct. by highest rate in two years"

1. Saudi warplanes have launched fresh airstrikes on Yemen targeting houses in Wazi’iyah district of Ta’izz province. At least seven people were killed in the airstrikes. The Saudi assault on Yemen has left nearly 7,200 people dead since March 26.

2. Amnesty International and the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, ALDE have called on Saudi Arabia to call off the planned execution of dozens of people including six Shia activists. Amnesty says Saudi authorities are using the guise of counter-terrorism to settle political scores.

3. Russian President Vladimir Putin says Moscow had informed Washington of the flight path of its warplane that was downed by Turkey over Syria. Putin made the remark in a presser with his French counterpart Francois Hollande. Putin and Hollande also pledged to coordinate and intensify airstrikes against Daesh terrorists in Syria.

4. Belgian Prime Minister Sharl Mishel has ordered his government to lower the threat level for the capital Brussels. Mishel says the threat of an attack in the city remains serious but was not just as imminent. He also says security forces will remain in Brussels and keep assessing the threat level.

5. Israeli forces have shot and killed another Palestinian near a settlement, east of Jerusalem al-Quds. The Israeli army says the Palestinian man was shot after running over a number of Israeli forces. This brings to 104 the total number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of October.

6. British campaigners call on the parliament to address the growing rise in Islamophobic attacks in the UK following the recent acts of terrorism in Paris. According to UK based monitoring group Tell Mama, the number of hate crimes against Muslims has soared by almost 275 percent in the last few weeks alone.

7. French Labor Ministry says the number of jobless people in France has increased by 42,000 in October compared to September. According to the report, this was the sharpest rise in two years. The total number of jobless people in France amounts to about four million.

8. The UN children's agency says over a million children are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. The UNICEF also says over half a million children under-five are already malnourished and about two million children have been affected since the clashes broke out in the country in 2012.
