The US and its allies have continued their alleged airstrikes on Daesh positions in Iraq and Syria, carrying out 27 raids during Thanksgiving, the Pentagon says.

The US Department of Defense announced the news on Thursday, providing a list of targets that were hit.

According to the report, four of the attacks were carried out by bombers and drones in Syria where two strikes hit ISIL fighting positions and wounded two Daesh terrorists.

A Daesh tactical unit and a vehicle-staging area near the city of Raqqa were also struck in two other raids.

In Iraq, the story was more or less the same with the US-led coalition conducting 23 strikes on reported Daesh positions.

One airstrike was carried out near the capital Baghdad in coordination with the government forces. Two Daesh rocket positions were destroyed in the attack.

The Iraqi city of Ramadi saw the highest number of air raids, where seven strikes hit five separate ISIL tactical units and destroyed two of their fighting positions, two vehicles, a mortar, two structures, a boat and a front-end loader.

Five more airstrikes were carried out near Sinjar, a city that was liberated by the Iraqi army and popular forces a few days ago. According to the Pentagon, the attacks wounded a militant and destroyed a vehicle, a heavy machine gun and two fighting positions.

The US-led coalition has been striking Daesh positions for more than a year now, reportedly carrying out 3,586 airstrikes in Iraq and 2,578 in Syria.

Analysts accuse Washington and its allies of only claiming to fight militant groups like Daesh, while in reality they helped create and train those organizations to wreak havoc in Muslim countries.

The Takfiri group uses a campaign of terror that includes a wide range of atrocities such as gruesome tortures, summary executions, and shocking methods to kill.
