Next US president must fix country’s ‘corrupt political system’: Journalist

“The American people are looking for a reformer, they’re looking for someone to come in and change this corrupt political system and then bring some honesty to it, said Mike Harris, an editor at the Veterans Today online journal.

People in the United States are seeking a president that will fix the country’s “corrupt political system” and to get rid of the neoconservative officials left over from the George W. Bush administration, an American journalist in Phoenix says.

“The American people are looking for a reformer, they’re looking for someone to come in and change this corrupt political system and then bring some honesty to it, said Mike Harris, an editor at the Veterans Today online journal.

The new president must “rout out the corruption and get rid of the people who are profiting from it,” Harris said in a phone interview with Press TV on Thursday.

Harris urged the future leader in the White House to learn from the mistakes that President Barack Obama committed which have led to a situation where “organized crime has taken over the United States.”

“Obama made the mistake of keeping too many holdovers from the Bush administration; too many neocons are in the State Department,” he said.

The journalist warned that conducting such a sweeping overhaul in Washington is a “dangerous task” because the establishment in this country will murder this type of president, citing the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy.
