Glenn Beck predicts WWIII after downing of Russian jet

Glenn Beck speaks on his radio program March 20, 2014.

One country in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will soon invoke Article Five of the treaty that will lead to the World War III, according to a conservative US radio host and television commentator.

Glenn Beck made the remarks on Tuesday morning on his radio program in the wake of Turkey’s downing of the Russian warplane and the Paris terror attacks.

“If anybody is talking about Article [Five] — and this could be brought up by France. I don’t think it will be brought up by Turkey, but it could be,” Beck said.

“If anybody starts talking about Article [Five], that is the article in the NATO alliance that brings us all to war,” he said, referring to Article Five which “states that an attack on one ally shall be considered an attack on all allies.”

On Tuesday, NATO member Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet, claiming the aircraft had repeatedly violated its air space.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the jet had been attacked when it was 1 kilometer inside Syria. He warned of "serious consequences" and called it a “stab in the back” administered by "the accomplices of terrorists."

Article Four of the NATO treaty calls for consultation over military matters when "the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the parties is threatened"

Invoking Article Four, NATO countries met Tuesday after Turkey brought down the Russian jet. However, Article Five was not invoked during that meeting.

Russia has been conducting airstrikes on Daesh (ISIL) positions at the request of the Syrian government since September 30.

Last week, bombers and gunmen launched coordinated attacks in and around the French capital, reportedly killing at least 130 people and injuring more than 350 others.

ISIL terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, have claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks in France. They now control parts of Syria and Iraq.

However, some independent American analysts like former White House official Paul Craig Roberts say the United States and NATO actually orchestrated the Paris attacks as a “false flag” to enter the Syrian war in order to counter Russia, which has been conducting air strikes in Syria against ISIL terrorists since September 30.

Russian fighter jets have also attacked the CIA-trained militants fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to US officials.

“This was a false flag attack,” Roberts, a former assistant secretary of the US treasury, told Press TV. “It does not serve ISIL, but it does serve the Western political establishment.”
