Ukrainian president condemns re-escalation of clashes in east

1. Israeli forces have killed two more Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, during a raid on Qalandiya refugee camp north of Jerusalem al-Quds. They also reportedly nabbed a victim's body from an ambulance. 90 Palestinians have been killed in the recent escalation since the beginning of October.

2. The US has once again delivered ammunition to the so-called Syrian Arab Coalition, which is an anti-Damascus militant group. The ammunition was delivered by land. Washington has on several occasions airdropped weapons for anti-Damascus militants in Syria, which ended up in the hands of the Daesh terrorists.

3. The US Department of Defense says it has transferred five prisoners from the notorious Guantanamo prison to the United Arab Emirates. The five Yemeni detainees have each been in jail for nearly 14 years. The Pentagon says the transfer reduces the number of detainees to 107.

4. Canadian police say a mosque in the city of Peterborough has been deliberately set on fire. There has been no report of casualties yet, but the building has been severely damaged. Police say investigations are underway to find out the motive behind the fire and the arsons.

5. Russia’s deputy foreign minister says Moscow considers the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah a legitimate socio-political force in Lebanon, and not a terrorist organization. Mikhail Bogdanov says Hezbollah was elected by the Lebanese people to the parliament, adding that Moscow will maintain relations with the group.

6. The Yemeni army’s spokesperson says hundreds of Saudi soldiers have been killed over the past week. General Sharaf Luqman added that the Yemeni army will continue shelling the Saudi cities of Jizan, Asir and Najran unless Riyadh stops its aggression against the country.

7. Ukraine’s president has condemned the recent re-escalation of clashes with pro-Russians despite a September ceasefire agreement. Petro Poroshenko’s comment follows the death of 6 Ukrainian soldiers in clashes with the pro-Russia forces since Friday. More than 8,000 people have been killed in Ukraine crisis since April 2014.

8. Niger's election committee has admitted that its electoral lists include errors three months ahead of a presidential election. The errors include enrolment mistakes and missing polling booths. Corrections are due to be completed by the end of the week, after nearly one month of delay.
