Press TV has interviewed Sukant Chandan, a filmmaker and political commentator from London, and Lee Kaplan, an investigative journalist from Las Vegas, to discuss the real sponsors of terrorism in the world.

Chandan says the Daesh terrorist organization has been formed to be used as a “bulwark” against the expansion of Iranian influence in the Middle East. He adds the West and its allies in the region like Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel created, trained and funded al-Qaeda and Daesh to pursue their own interests in the Mideast.

The commentator also states Israel has been collaborating with death squads in Syria, noting that the United Nations has made official complaints against the Tel Aviv regime over its support for the Nusra Front terrorists.

He maintains the Israeli regime bombed Syria at least six times in a couple of years to provide the death squads in the war-stricken neighboring country with strategic support.

Urging the West to give “a little bit of leadership to Russia” to help deal with the refugee crisis in Europe and the danger of extremist militants in Iraq and Syria, Chandan argues the Russian air force succeeded in downgrading the military might of terror death squads during its short-term airstrikes against foreign-backed militants in Syria.

Kaplan, for his part, believes Daesh plans to send a message to the United States and its allies that the terrorist organization is a “formidable threat” to the West, adding that the terrorists want to convince the French people and government that they should be afraid of more potential threats.

He also notes the “United States made a mistake by providing arms” to the so-called opposition groups in Syria, but the foreign-backed militants “ended up with joining al-Qaeda.”
