The Syrian Air Force has conducted 151 sorties targeting 323 terrorist strongholds across the country over the past 48 hours demolishing seven Daesh command centers in the eastern outskirts of the major city of Homs.

The Syrian jet fighters also pounded terrorist positions near the city of Idlib, destroying two explosive production plants in al-Tamani’a and Maar Tarhrama areas, as well as two ammunition depots and a cluster of machinegun-equipped vehicles in the northern outskirts of the city of Hama in West of the country, state news agency SANA reported Saturday, citing a military spokesman.

“The army’s pinpoint strikes have caused deterioration in the morale of the terrorist organizations on more than one direction,” said the military spokesman.

Government troops continued their operations against foreign-backed terrorist elements across the country, making significant advances in numerous places in the provinces of Daraa, Sweida, Homs, Aleppo, and Lattakia as well as the Damascus countryside.

Syrian forces also waged intense battles in several areas of the southwestern city of Daraa, establishing control over areas north of Sheikh Miskeen district and foiling attempts by the armed militants to infiltrate military installations in the area, killing numerous terrorist elements in the process and knocking out their weaponry.

Also in Daraa, the army spokesman added, two bases belonging to the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front terrorist group were destroyed along with a manufacturing plant for explosive devices, several military vehicles, and a car loaded with munitions.

Syrian army units made further advances in Harasta area of the Eastern Ghouta part of the Damascus countryside, establishing control over several farms and buildings located on the eastern side of the international highway and killing numerous terrorists in the process.

Also in the northern Aleppo Province, army units and popular defense groups established control over the towns, villages, and farms in the area by inflicting heavy losses on the armed militants.

Syria has suffered from more than four years of foreign-backed terror campaign, which the government blames on a number of regional countries, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The advances of the Syrian government forces against the Takfiri Daesh militants and other terrorist groups have been expedited by the air cover provided by Russia, which began some six weeks ago.

Over 250,000 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced as a result of the crisis in Syria since March 2011.
