Iranian musicians perform traditional pieces in Austria

Iranian vocalist Alireza Qorbani has held a Persian music concert in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

Accompanied by Tar maestro Hossein Alizadeh, Qorbani performed traditional Persian music pieces at Vienna’s Theatre Accent.

The concert was part of the European tour by Alizadeh and Qorbani which started in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, and will finish in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Pezhman Haddadi (Tonbak), Reza Samani (Percussion), Javad Afshar (Santour), Siamak Jahangiri (Ney), Ali Boustan (Shourangiz) and Saba Alizadeh (Kamancheh) are the other musicians performing alongside Alizadeh and Qorbani.

The group is also planning to hold concerts in the Iranian capital, Tehran, and several other cities across the country.

Hossein Alizadeh is one of the most prominent figures of traditional Persian music. Born in 1951, he studied composition and musicology at Berlin University and has taught at the University of Tehran and Tehran Music Conservatory.

He has presented a repertoire of his compositions at several international music events and was nominated three times for the Grammy Award.

Alireza Ghorbani is an Iranian traditional vocalist, who has worked with many renowned musicians such as Ali Tajvidi and Farhad Fakhreddini.

He has collaborated with Iran's National Orchestra and held numerous national and international concerts.
