Press TV has interviewed Hussein al-Bukhaiti, a Yemeni activist and political commentator in Sana’a, to discuss Saudi Arabia’s ongoing aggression against Yemen.

Following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: How do you feel about at this point this war essentially on two fronts - one of course against the Saudi-led coalition and one within the country against pro-Hadi forces?

Bukhaiti: We have seen that is what the Saudis actually wanted. They want to have front line everywhere in Yemen. They want to bring a civil war inside Yemen. They want us to fight each other. That is why they are bringing back all Yemeni terrorists who have been gone to Syria and have been fighting in Syria for the last three to four years, they are bringing them back now to Yemen.

They have been doing this in the last six to seven months and we have seen what happened in Aden. Aden was almost clear and most of the south from all al-Qaeda and so-called ISIS (Daesh) fighters and as soon as the land invasion by United Arab Emirates and the Saudis and their allies, we have seen that al-Qaeda and ISIS (Daesh) have the upper hand and have controlled Aden and many areas in the south and the so-called prime minister Mr. Bahah has fled Aden.

So when they say they want to bring security and stability and hope in Yemen, this is all lies because we can see one example in Aden that the situation there is getting worse and worse and al-Qaeda by everyday is taking control of the entire city.

Press TV: So then what does this mean about the resistance against obviously al-Qaeda as well as the Saudis and pro-Hadi forces on the part of either Ansarullah or the Yemeni armed forces? Do you think the resistance can hold strong here?

Bukhaiti: Yes I am sure the resistance and the Yemeni army and Ansarullah fighters and all tribal fighters they can hold because now we have entered the eight month of this attack and we just imagine like we are against almost the entire world.

You have seen most powerful countries like France, the UK and America and most rich countries in the region like Saudi Arabia and the [Persian] Gulf states are part in this attack on Yemen, eight months of constant air bombardment, eight months of a constant terrorist attack and they are supporting terrorists across Yemen and still the Yemeni army is holding and Ansarullah Popular Committee are holding as well and the tribes have not entered this war yet and I am sure that the next step will be to mobilize all tribe fighters or anybody who can carry a gun and they have been doing this, mobilizing all the tribes, and I am sure we can hold longer than that and I do not think the Saudis can take it longer than that and as well they cannot take the huge [loss] either inside Saudi or their loyalists across Yemen.
