US intends to push China into war: Pundit

Press TV has conducted an interview with Mike Billington, with the Executive Intelligence Review from Leesburg, to discuss the United States’ provocations in South China Sea.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: There are many who are interpreting the US’ move as obviously inflammatory and one that will increase tensions in a region where tensions already exist. What would you say to that?

Billington: Oh, this is the intention. We’re dealing with the president who is stark raving mad. He has not only refused Russia’s campaign to destroy the terrorist groups in the Middle East, but Obama is publically declaring that Russia is the problem, when in fact the US under Obama and under Bush before him were essentially openly supporting the terrorist operations in the Middle East.

You now have Obama saying that China is being aggressive and militarizing the South China Sea, which if they were would be their right given that is their territory, their border.

And yet here we are sending warships in an open provocation, which cannot be interpreted by anybody in the world other than intent to provoke a confrontation with China and Russia for that matter.

And this is happening at the same time that the US is attempting to override the Philippine Constitution and deploy massive military forces into eight different bases in the Philippines.

This is not only an encirclement of China, this is a clear attempt by the Obama administration representing nothing but the Wall Street and city of London networks who are collapsing at a rapid rate, are facing a complete total breakdown in the coming weeks and months at most.

And who look at what China is doing in the BRICS nations generally, but especially driven by China, building infrastructure throughout the world, Africa, Asia, South America, railroad, nuclear power plants, and is preparing to build what could be and should be a commons within the South China Sea, in which all nations should participate.

Press TV: The military expansion towards South China Sea has been a strategy that the Obama administration announced publically, how do you see China reacting to it though?

Billington: They’re in a position where all they can do is counterpoise their paradigm, which is one which America used to be proud of development, infrastructure, supporting nations, common interest of mankind.

And to declare as the foreign ministry did today you may have announced it earlier that this is not only a provocation and hypocritical but if the US perceives as Ashton Carter says he will; then they’re basically inducing the Chinese to prepare some sort of military defense in that region.

It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy by Obama who in fact has no intention other than to militarily confront both Russia and China. This is a very very dangerous situation.
