Two Iran filmmakers to sit at Grand OFF 2015 jury

Two Iranian filmmakers are set to judge at the 2015 Grand OFF World Independent Film Awards in Poland.

Two Iranian filmmakers will serve at the jury of the 2015 Grand OFF World Independent Film Awards in Poland.

Marjan Riahi and Reza Serkanin will join jurors from countries such as Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Australia and South Korea.

The panel will select winners in Best Fiction, Best Directing, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Production Design and Best Polish Film.

Riahi is among the successful Iranian documentary filmmakers and scriptwriters, whose works have been screened in several international and national festivals.

She has served as a juror in several film festivals in Afghanistan, France, India, Iran and Poland.

Serkanian is an award-winning Iranian director, whose short films and documentaries have been screened and praised at Clermont-Ferrand, Vila do Conde, Bilbao, Saarbrucken and Copenhagen film festivals.

‘Ephemeral Weddings,’ ‘The first Event,’ and ‘Bird in the Wind’ are among Serkanian’s better-known works.

Grand OFF World Independent Film Awards is the most important initiative promoting independent cinema in Poland and one of the most important cultural events related to independent cinema in the world.

The 2015 edition of the event will be held in the Polish capital Warsaw from December 3 to 6.
