Syrian army makes new gains, liberates area in Hama
The Syrian army has made significant gains against foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants operating in the Arab country, liberating a new area in the central province of Hama.
Units of the Syrian army liberated the area of Foru, located to the north of the city of Hama, and killed tens of terrorists while injured many others.
The operation was backed by Russian Air Force, which bombed the positions of the terrorists around the area and a village located to the northwest of Hama.
On September 30, Russia started its military campaign against terrorists in Syria upon a request by the government in Damascus, shortly after Russia’s upper house of parliament granted President Vladimir Putin authorization to use military force in the Arab country.
Reports also said that heavy clashes took place between the Syrian army units and terrorists on the outskirts of al-Ghab area in the province. It was said that at least 12 terrorists were killed in the clashes.
2 civilians killed in militant rocket attack
In another development, at least two civilians were killed after rockets were fired by Takfiri militants on Saif al-Dawla neighborhood in the Syrian northern city of Aleppo, the Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported. At least 11 others sustained injuries in the deadly attack.
Elsewhere, the foreign-backed Takfiri militants fired four rocket shells on the al-Mazzeh neighborhood in the capital, Damascus, injuring a civilian.
A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that the shells were fired by terrorists from the so-called “Jaish al-Islam,” who are positioned in Joubar.
The foreign-backed conflict in Syria, which flared in March 2011, has so far claimed the lives of more than 250,000 people and left over one million injured, according to the United Nations.
