UN: Yemen received only 1% of its monthly commercial fuel in Sept

The United Nations says Yemen only received one percent of its monthly commercial fuel in September as a result of Saudi Arabia’s blockade of shipments.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the fuel shortage has led to an increase in food prices in the war-torn country. Last week, Yemen's fugitive former president Abd Rabbouh Mansour Hadi pledged to the United Nations to allow deliveries. But so far, no fuel shipments have entered the country. Yemen imports the majority of its supplies from abroad, however Saudi Arabia’s blockade has nearly stopped shipments to the country. The Saudi kingdom started its aggression against neighboring Yemen in March. Over 6,500 Yemenis have been killed in the military campaign since then.
