Palestinians only reacting to Israelis’ atrocities: Journalist

Press TV has interviewed Hafsa Kara-Mustapha, a journalist and political analyst from London, and Maxine Dovere, a political commentator from New York, to discuss the new wave of Israeli-Palestinian tensions at al-Aqsa Mosque that has raised fears of a third Palestinian Intifada among Israelis.

Kara-Mustapha says there is no two-sided violence in the occupied Palestinian lands because Israeli settlers attack the Palestinian people and the Arab community is only reacting to the aggression.

She says Israelis are the occupying forces, who have defied the international law, provoking Palestinians to react to their atrocities and land grab.

The journalist adds that Zionism has created a “very racist, bigoted, extremist and supremacist ideology” that considers Israelis as superior to Palestinians.

Dovere, for her part, calls for a halt to the unrest, adding that if tensions continue more Palestinians and Israelis will be killed and harmed.

The problem needs “good leadership” to bring peace and tranquility for both sides, the political commentator argues, urging Israelis and Palestinians to engage in “sincere” negotiations for the first time.
