Iran soccer team vanquishes Kazakhstan in Asia Pacific Deaf Games

Iran’s deaf soccer players have maintained superiority at the eighth edition of the Asia Pacific Deaf Games in Taiwan, and cruised past Kazakhstan in a one-sided match.

On Tuesday, the Iranian sportsmen exhibited athletic skills throughout the game, which was played at the Central Police University in the northwestern district of Taoyuan, and earned a well-deserved 11-1 win against the opponent.

In another match of the day, the Japanese squad defeated the Australian side 2-0.

The hearing-impaired Iranian footballers beat the Australian team 5-0 in their opening fixture on October 2, and trounced Japan 4-0 in their next showdown two days later.

Iran futsal players thrash Emirati counterparts

Iranian men's national deaf futsal team has registered its first victory at the tournament, crushing the United Arab Emirates team.

The Iranian athletes outclassed the Emirati side 21-2 in the opener played at the National Taiwan Sport University Gymnasium in Taoyuan on Tuesday. The Iranian futsallers will face Japan on Wednesday.

Deaf Iranian taekwondo artists crowned

Additionally, Iranian hearing-impaired taekwondo practitioners demonstrated awe-inspiring displays at the 8th edition of the Asia Pacific Deaf Games, and stood on top of the podium.

Iran’s taekwondo fighter Behzad Amiri defeated his Kazakh competitor in the final bout of the men’s minus 68-kilogram weight class and snatched the gold medal on October 4.

Marziyeh Khosh Ahval claimed another taekwondo gold for Iran in the final encounter of women’s minus 57-kilogram weight category after she overpowered a representative from Kazakhstan.

Maysam Abedi conceded defeat in the men’s minus 80-kilogram weight category, and clinched the silver medal.

Mohammad Kazemzadeh and Maryam Khodabandeh also pocketed two bronze medals in the men’s minus 58-kilogram and women’s minus 49-kilogram weight divisions.

The eighth edition of the Asia Pacific Deaf Games opened in Taoyuan on October 3 and will finish on October 11.
